What is the Star Alliance-
I wanted everyone to know; this is not a paid advertisement for Star Alliance, just an opportunity to share what I learned and what I’m doing with others. The Star Alliance is a reward program that provides incentives for passages flying within its 26 member airlines. This alliance was started in 1997 with the headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. Now, it is the largest of the three partnerships by passenger count, with 762.27 million passenger participation.
The Star Alliance airlines operate over 5,000 aircraft, with 1290 destinations in 195 countries. The alliance provides incentives for priority boarding and upgrades, priority check-in, extra baggage allowance, and more.
Why is it important to you?
For most frequent flyers, we all love upgrades, especially to first class. Also, you have options for multiple airlines. You will not be required to fly one airline, you have various options, therefore, enabling you to evaluate low-cost options and still receive the benefits of airline loyalty programs. Gold Alliance members have access to more than 1000 lounges worldwide. If you have never experienced this opportunity, once you do, you will never want to travel any other way. If you are not a gold member but receive an upgrade to first class, you have an opportunity to access the lounge also.
For those who are starting their journey around the world, it is a great option to begin to log the miles and receive the benefits. For those that have traveled a while and will continue to travel, it is never too late to start benefiting from the flights that you will take from the near to the distant future.
Note: There was more food, I was just enjoying the moment that I forgot to take pictures.
